Frequently
asked questions...

Clinic visits are by appointment only and for registered patients.

Your doctor is a member of a Family Health Organization (FHO) group, as such patients enrolled at this clinic are encouraged to use our facility for all their health care needs.  If you visit other clinics outside of this FHO group the Ministry of Health will charge your doctor a penalty fee.   Frequent visits to another clinic may lead to de-rostering from this clinic.  This does not apply to visits to Hospital, Emergency room & Specialist care.  If you need to see a doctor for urgent care outside our regular hours, please see the section on urgent care.

If you require urgent medical services/care, please contact our clinic during regular hours, we will do our best to provide same day appointment.  On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays the clinic provides After hours  services  for urgent medical issues between 5-8pm (except for when physicians are not available). This service is for registered patients only and for urgent medical issues. If you require urgent care outside of clinic regular hour and on weekends , please refer to the After Hours/ weekend section for more information  for various days where you can access care from physicians in our family health group. For emergency, please contact your nearest emergency service.

Uninsured Services

The Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) pays for most of your medical visits at the clinic however, some medical procedures and most administrative services such as completion of forms, copies of test results etc are not covered by OHIP.   Services not covered by OHIP are called “uninsured service”.

Third Party

Third party services are services received by a patient partly or wholly for the completion of a document or the provision /transmission of information to satisfy the requirements of a party other than the patient. These services require significant time and resources and are not covered by OHIP.

All uninsured and Third-party services will attract a fee and it is the responsibility of the patient or third party where applicable to make payment at the point of care.  You will be informed of applicable fees at the time of making appointment.

For cancelling and/or rescheduling of all appointments we require 24 hours’ notice.  Should you book your appointment within the 24-hour time-frame the policy is in effect immediately. Missed appointments deprive other patients who need access to health care in a timely manner. Consequently, a missed appointment fee could be applicable for missed appointments not cancelled at least 24 hours in advance.

It is best that you make an appointment with your physician when you get to your last refill if you take regular medications. Alternatively, if urgent your pharmacy can fax a request to renew your medications.

Please note all phone/ fax requests for renewal of medication will attract a service fee of $25 to be paid by the patient from April 1st 2023. Please allow up to four business days to process your request.

A convenience fee for card processing will apply to online & credit card payments.

On enrolling as a patient in our clinic, we would ask for a valid email. This will be used for appointment reminders mostly or for very important clinic  updates.  We do not use email to exchange sensitive information with you and we may decline if you ask us to due to some privacy risks associated with using emails to exchange any personal health information with you. Although we try to protect our emails, we cannot guarantee the security and confidentiality of any email you receive from us.

As a health information custodian, we are committed to protecting the privacy, confidentiality and security of your personal health information held in any form. Please note we will not disclose your personal health information with anyone unless we receive consent from you to do so

Zero Tolerance to Abusive Behaviour and Harassment

Harassment or violence or abusive behaviour or rude gestures against clinic staff and physicians will not be tolerated. Our work place has an obligation to protect our staff from workplace violence and harassment including verbal abuse. We implore you, during all interactions with clinic staff to remain respectful including when speaking over the phone.  Any behaviour considered to be abusive, threatening, disruptive or infringing on the dignity or respect of a person be it physical, verbally or in writing could result in termination of partnership of your healthcare with our clinic.
